Heavy Snowfall Grounds Flights at Amsterdam Airport

<p>A snowstorm disrupted flights into and out of Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on Monday, December 11 as authorities issued a code red alarm, the highest of four warning levels, for most of the country.</p><p>The airport tweeted</a> a third of all flights had been cancelled due to limited runway capacity. Around 1,300 camp beds</a> were set up for stranded passengers.</p><p>430 flights were canceled, local news source Telegraaf</a> reported. Dutch airline KLM alone canceled 300 flights, with travellers in Eindhoven Aiport also affected.</p><p>Heavy snow blanketed many parts of Europe</a> late last week and early this week, with transport chaos also reported in Germany, Belgium, Italy and France.</p><p>One passenger captured this footage at Schiphol from inside their plane.
