Her artistic flair and love of music became even more apparent when during elementary school she began to develop her interest in poetry. While still a small child, her father noticed her great interest in musical instruments – she used to hold a sewing needle and a matchstick pretending to play the mandolin – and offered her a bouzouki. Georgia then began to appear on many television and radio broadcasts showing her talent. 1982-83: Third Prize in the Art Competition for schools in Europe. 1981: After the encouragement given by the musician Achilleas Kaminaras, she began taking bouzouki lessons from the renowned bouzouki teacher Mr Costas Sofianos. 1990: She left for Thessaloniki to study advanced music theory (harmony and band direction). 1995: Upon her return to Cyprus, she joined the Aris Choir of Limassol, the group of Cypriot Serenades and Limassol Serenades, participating in many performances both in Cyprus and abroad. She also participated in various events organised by the Municipality of Limassol. 1996: She participated in the Choral Festival in Cephalonia along with the group of Cypriot Serenades where she played the mandolin and won widespread praise for her outstanding performance. The conductor of the Athenian Mandolinata Orchestra, Dionysis Apostolatos, captivated by her performance, proposed her to become a member of the Athenian Mandolinata Orchestra. 1996: She participated in the Choral Festival of Pefki along with the group of Cypriot Serenades upon Dionysis Apostolatou’s invitation. 1998: She participated in the Choral Festival of Thebes in special tribute to Yiannis Spanos.

http://www.georgiakombou.com

CREDITS / SPONSORS
Darren Casey - Video
Soundscape Studios - Sound & Equipment
Sophia Paraskeva - Presenter
Limassol Marina - Balcony
The Production Design Group - Monitoring System

Sponsors
Soundscape Studios
http://www.soundscape-studios.com
Limassol Marina
http://www.limassolmarina.com/
DCY Management
http://www.dcymanagement.com
The Production Design Group
http://www.production-cyprus.com

Tune in again to BalconyTV //
