Two polar bears were spotted and caught on film at Alaska’s Will Rogers-Wiley Post Memorial Airport in the early hours of December 14.

This footage was shot by Scott Babcock, who was inspecting the runway of the Utqiagvik airport when he saw the bears in his headlights. The two animals ran off to a nearby snow dump when they saw Babcock’s vehicle, Associated Press reported.

“The bears were not chased, hazed or harassed in any way,” Babcock told Storyful. “I observed these bears until the borough animal control came and dealt with them.”

Babcock, who describes himself as an “airfield maintenance guy”, previously saw a 450-pound bearded seal on the runway.
