Padman is an upcoming 2018 Indian biographical comedy-drama film written and directed by R. Balki, featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles, which is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu . Amitabh Bachchan appears in a special role. Amit Trivedi and Komail Shayan scored the music of the film, with the former composing the film score and latter composing the songs. <br /> <br />The film will be based on Twinkle Khanna's book, The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad[1], which is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham[2], a Tamil Nadu-based social activist who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.[3] Padman movie revolves around the story of Arunachalam who invented low-cost sanitary pads. Radhika Apte plays the on-screen wife of Akshay's character, Lakshmikant Chauhan.
