<p>A tour bus flipped over on the Mahahual-Cafetal highway in Mahahual, Mexico, on December 19, killing 11 cruise ship passengers and a guide who were on on their way to visit the Chacchoben Ruins</a>.</p><p>In a press release</a>, the Government of the State of Quintana Roo stated that of the 31 people aboard the bus, 18 were injured and 12 were killed.</p><p>Authorities had yet to confirm the nationalities of the deceased, but American, Swedish, Italian and Brazilian nationals were reported</a> to have been aboard the bus.</p><p>Seatrade Cruise News reported</a> that the passengers were from Royal Caribbean’s Celebrity Equinox and Serenade of the Seas cruise ships.
