China has tested the world's largest amphibious aircraft, the AG600, codenamed "Kunlong," flew for almost an hour on its maiden voyage.<br /><br />China's state owned Aviation Industry Corp spent almost 8 years developing the aircraft which will be used for firefighting and maritime rescue. However, it also has military applications.<br /><br />Several media reports have also noted its potential use in the South China Sea where China, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Brunei all have overlapping territorial claims.
