Tourists flocked to Whitby to watch hundreds of people take part in the annual Boxing Day Dip, which sees participants brave the cold temperatures of the North Sea for charity.<br /><br />The event has been taking place for over 45 years in which local citizens and tourists gather along seaside to cheer the dippers on.<br /><br />Participants dress up in fancy dress and on this occasion swimmers dressed as Santa elves and even human traffic cones.
