<p>A person was winched from a cruise ship in the Torres Strait on Thursday, December 28, after falling seriously ill, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) said.</p><p>The Queensland Government helicopter Rescue 700 airlifted the patient from the AIDAcara cruise liner at about 8 am Thursday, before sending him or her to Thursday Island for treatment.
