<p>A funnel cloud was spotted in Soweto, South Africa, on Saturday, December 30, as a storm damaged buildings and property.</p><p>This video, captured by George Liebenberg, shows the cloud formation from a distance. It was filmed on the R28 road while heading north from Westonaria, and the camera looks toward Soweto to the east.</p><p>An accompanying storm caused severe damage to the Soweto region, according to South African television station ENCA</a>.</p><p>Residents in the nearby town of Protea Glen suffered significant damage to their homes, leaving some homeless, the news channel reported.</p><p>Meanwhile, three people were treated for shock after heavy rain caused part of the roof to collapse at the Trade Route Mall in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, local site News24.com reported</a>.
