<p>Firefighters used lifeboats to rescue people stranded by freezing floodwaters in Boston, Massachusetts, on Thursday, January 4.</p><p>This video taken by onlooker Joseph Hollow shows a person being pulled in a rubber boat on frozen State Street. Sharing two videos of the rescue on Instagram, he wrote: “Just a typical water rescue… Boston is flooding, and the BPD (Boston Police Department) and BFD (Boston Fire Department) are doing their jobs.”</p><p>Boston was among the towns in the northeast hit by a storm dubbed “bomb cyclone” due to its ability to suddently lower atmospheric pressure, according to The New York Times</a>.
