With Matt Lauer’s firing and Hoda Kotb’s promotion, the Today show has experienced major changes lately. And Megyn Kelly may be bearing the brunt of the talent upheaval!<br /><br />Show producers are looking to move Kelly’s ratings-challenged 9 a.m. show back one hour in order to slate Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford in the more attractive time slot, a show insider told RadarOnline.com exclusively.<br /><br />“No one at NBC thought Matt Lauer being fired could solve an ongoing problem facing the third hour of the show — Megyn Kelly’s terrible ratings — but there is a plan in the works because of the termination,” the source claimed.<br /><br /><br /><br />“Producers are exploring having Hoda and Kathie Lee air at 9am, with Megyn’s hour moved to 10 am.”<br /><br />With Kotb now also serving as co-anchor alongside Savannah Guthrie in the early hours, producers believe the show would “flow” much better if she didn’t take an hour off between stints.<br /><br />However, the source insisted that no scheduling changes can be made without Kelly’s approval.<br /><br />“It’s part of her contract that the show can’t change time slots without her consent,” the insider explained.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Gifford isn’t thrilled with the prospect of waking up earlier every morning!<br /><br />Kathie Lee isn’t happy, because she will have to be at there before 8 a.m.,” the source said.<br /><br /><br /><br />As Radar previously reported, Kotb is eventually planning to dump her gig with Gifford in order to focus on her role with Guthrie.<br /><br />“Hoda will keep on hosting with Kathie Lee for the next six months and slowly pull away,” a separate source claimed.<br /><br />We pay for juicy info!
