But director Ridley Scott gave a little insight in his decision.<br /><br /><br /><br />Keep in mind, Kevin’s downfall came about six weeks or so until the movie opened worldwide and all that was left was the finalize the music.<br /><br /><br /><br />But Ridley revealed that he was stunned by the Spacey allegations and sat back and waited for an apologetic phone and possibly a few constructive suggestions about the film’s future.<br /><br /><br /><br />And none ever came.<br /><br /><br /><br />Ridley says Spacey’s silence made it all the easier to move forward without the actor and cast Christopher Plummer in the role instead. <br /><br /><br /><br />They reshot every Spacey scene, which was tricky because they had to get all the actors back and find out which locations would be available again.<br /><br /><br /><br />Luckily all the big actors, like Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams came back for free and the film was completed with barely a hiccup.<br /><br /><br /><br />Now we’re left to wonder if Plummer will get an Oscar nomination.<br /><br />
