Apple's Fixes For the 'Meltdown' and 'Spectre' Chip Flaws The Cupertino-based tech giant said that there are no known exploits impacting users. Fixes have not impacted speed or device performance, Apple says, a month after the company revealed that they intentionally slow <br />the performance of some <br />older models of its iPhones. Apple will be also releasing a patch for its Safari web browser as a result of Spectre, another chip flaw affecting nearly all computer chips made in the last decade. Browser makers Google, Microsoft and Mozilla tell Reuters that the patches they currently have in place do not protect iOS users. Apple shares rose less than 1 percent to $173.56 in early trading Friday in New York.
