<p>A teenage carjacker’s attempt to escape custody was foiled on January 5 after police located a car key in his pocket, linking him to a stolen car, a violent incident</a> and other offences.</p><p>Police reported</a> the teenager, an 18-year-old from Carina, attempted to steal a car at Sunnybank Hills</a> and stabbed a man in the process of stealing another car, when the initial attempt failed.</p><p>With another male, the offender fled the scene and the pair were involved in a car crash, evading police and stole a white car from Dundowran, which was later involved in a petrol drive-off.</p><p>Police said they located the white car stolen from Dundowran, abandoned in Brookfield, at about 5pm on January 5.</p><p>They then tracked one of the males to a ride-sharing service on Manly Rd, where the passenger was intercepted.
