Cast Kept ‘Tabs’ On Druggie Artie Lange After Troubling Behavior On ‘Crashing’ Set

Comedian and actress Jamie Lee opened up about how “really scary” it is to work with troubled comedian Artie Lange on their HBO show Crashing.<br /><br />Lee sat down with hosts Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss for a new episode of the podcast Allegedly and admitted the cast and crew are all worried about their drug-addict co-star, Lange.<br /><br />As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Lange was recently arrested after missing several court dates for a prior drug charge.<br /><br />currently being treated in a New Jersey hospital.<br /><br />“I think the good thing is that we’re able to sort of talk about [Artie’s issues] on the show” and will continue to do so on Season 2, Lee said on Allegedly.<br /><br />“We sort of delve into the real Artie,” she continued. “It’s like art imitating life a little bit, which is sad but also probably healing on some level, that we’re not ignoring it, that we’re leaning into it.”<br /><br />Lee also noted during the revealing interview how “weird” it could be to shoot the show with 50-year-old Lange, including a situation when he went to the bathroom between scenes for what seemed like too long.<br /><br />Despite Lange’s many problems, Lee has nothing but respect for the funnyman.<br /><br />“He’s the nicest, greatest man,” she noted.<br /><br />We pay for juicy info!
