<br /> <p>Passengers on the Norwegian Cruise Lines ship Breakaway were caught in the “bomb cyclone” weather front on return to Manhattan from the Bahamas last week. This video was shot by a passenger January 3-5 as the ship was approaching New York.</p><p>Kevin de Reus captured the footage and was one of the people aboard the ship, which departed on January 3, according to reports</a>.</p><p>De Reus told Storyful: “The ship was constantly rocking and leaning from the strong winds. We saw some people sleeping in the hallways because of water leaking into their rooms from the balcony doors.”</p><p>De Reus also explained that although they were confident the ship would withstand the winter storm, some people chose to walk around with life jackets on.</p><p>A Norwegian Cruise Lines official issued a statement apologizing to passengers, saying the vessel “encountered stronger than forecasted weather conditions,” according to reports</a>.
