KAPLAN, LOUISIANA — A Louisiana teacher who voiced her opinion against a superintendent's new contract was arrested during a school board meeting.
Teacher Deyshia Hargrave brought up the issue of low teacher pay and increasing class size, and wondered if a pay bump for the superintendent was really the best thing, NBC News reported.

Hargrave is an English teacher at Rene A. Rost Middle School in Kaplan, Louisiana.
Board members were about to call a vote to give superintendent Jerome Puyau a $30,000 pay bump. What? A thirty grand increase for a superintendent?

In a 12-minute video posted online, Hargrave calmly addresses the board only to be humiliatingly handcuffed and arrested.

The teacher was tossed into Abbeville City Jail on charges of resisting an officer and remaining on premises after being forbidden there, arrest records show.
