<p>Nearly 200 people</a> had close calls at Queensland’s railway crossings in 2017, Queensland Rail said.</p><p>The train operator on January 17 released this compilation of clips showing near misses across the state. In one incident at Coopers Plain, CCTV shows a car speeding across a railroad crossing and dislodging a boom gate. Other clips show pedestrians, cyclists and motorists wilfully or unknowingly place themselves near the path of an oncoming train.</p><p>Acting Transport Minister Mark Ryan called for road safety, saying “absolutely every near miss Queensland Rail experienced last year was avoidable,” ABC</a> quoted.
