Chinese police last week rescued a baby wild elephant which fell down a hill and got stuck in a ditch.<br /><br />According to local reports, the elephant slipped 60-metres down the hillside before coming to rest in the concrete ditch in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in southwestern China's Yunnan Province.<br /><br />Rescuers took the one-month-old elephant to Mengyang Nature Reserve where it was treated by veterinarians.<br /><br />According to local media, the elephant made a good recovery and began to eat the day after the rescue.<br /><br />It was later transferred to Asian Elephant Breeding Centre.
