Pen and wash demonstration of a Country Mailbox using a minimum of colors and simple techniques. The image is from memory of several mailboxes Id seen while driving the day before.\r
\r
My demonstrations are done in smaller sizes, allowing the viewer to get in closer to the painting and better see my techniques. These are the same techniques I use on all of my large paintings.\r
\r
*** Now selling my paintings on Ebay ***\r
Link: \r
\r
Music, Silent Moon, Stars in the Window, Daydreaming and Among the Clouds\r
by Antonio Romo. \r
See him on Youtube :\r
\r
PAPER: Size- 5x7\r
Arches 140lb Hot Press Paper for this Video.\r
\r
My papers of choice include Arches 140lb Hot press and Cold press paper and Strathmore 500Sketchbooks. All are 100% cotton rag.\r
For beginners, I recommend starting with a high quality paper and experimenting with different types. As your style develops, youll get a feel for which type is best. Waiting to switch to a better quality paper later will be much like learning to paint all over again.\r
\r
MY PALETTE: All tube paints!\r
Winsor Newton- Yellow Ochre, Sepia, Burnt Sienna, Winsor Red, Davys Gray, Ultramarine, Sap Green. \r
DaVinci - Phthalo Blue, Quinachridone Fuchsia, Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Cadmium Yellow Deep.\r
A note on Davys Gray: I rarely use this pigment straight and when using it I usually mix it with each colour used.\r
\r
PAINT PALETTE::\r
The palette is the mixing tray from a Koi Watercolour travel set. The colours are set up so the ones I mix together most often are close together.\r
The paints are squeezed onto slips of paper and then stuck to the palette.\r
This makes replacing or changing colours quick and easy.\r
\r
BRUSH: An inexpensive, Currys brand 3/8 Flat \r
I often use inexpensive brushes because several of my techniques are quite abusive.\r
Whenever the brush disappears from the screen it is either being wiped off or rinsed.\r
\r
PEN: Pigma Micron 005 pen
