The “champ-champ” is no longer a belt-holder anymore.<br /><br />That’s right, UFC president Dana White has revealed that the company has stripped Conor McGregor of the lightweight belt for inactivity.<br /><br />And if you keep up with things, you’ll know this is the SECOND time the fighter has been stripped.<br /><br />McGregor was first stripped of the featherweight belt back November of 2016, after winning it the year before. But since he never defended it, it was taken away.<br /><br />Conor hasn’t stepped in the octagon since beating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. But remained inactive from MMA in 2017 – and rumor had it he didn’t want to come back until late 2018.<br /><br />And Dana said he can’t hold up a division for 2 years, so they had to strip him of the belt.<br /><br />Conor has yet to address the issue.<br />
