When the gas ran out on the hob, this science-mad dad from Australia decided to see if he could fry an egg in the sun.<br /><br />Jacob Strickling first placed the frying pan out in the sun for 30 minutes on a day when the mercury soared to 35 degrees Celsius.<br /><br />When the black base of the pan had absorbed enough heat, he cracked in the egg and fried it successfully. <br /><br />According to Strickling, he enjoyed his egg on toast sunny side up.
