SpaceX successfully test fired the rocket engines of the Falcon Heavy.<br />The company initiated a burn that lasted only 12 seconds, but each of the rocket's 27 Merlin engines roared to life simultaneously, spewing out an immense plume of smoke.<br />But the Falcon Heavy did not takeoff from Cape Canaveral's historic LC-39A launch site.<br />Instead, SpaceX conducted a static fire test to ensure the engines work. <br />
