American magician David Copperfield has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old model in 1988. <br /> Brittney Lewis came forward with the allegations on Wednesday, just hours after Copperfield expressed support for the #MeToo movement, while warning against rushing to judgment about allegations of sexual misconduct. <br />She claimed the magician invited her to one of his California shows after judging a modeling contest which she was competing in. <br />Copperfield's statement on Instagram suggests he may have been aware that Lewis was about to go public with her allegations.<br />He said he had been falsely accused in 2007 and was having to "weather another storm." <br />
