FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe will retire when he becomes eligible in mid-March.<br />According to sources familiar with his decision, McCabe will step aside from his role at the bureau over the next two months, before retiring.<br />McCabe has served at the FBI since 1996, and served under both Robert Mueller and James Comey during their tenures at the bureau's director.<br />He was chosen to lead the FBI as the acting director following the firing of Comey by President Donald Trump. <br />
