<p>Spectators at a high school basketball game on January 24 got more than they bargained for when they witnessed a referee pop the question to his long-time girlfriend.</p><p>Fans were gathered at St Mary’s High School’s Morelli Gym in Stockton, California, ready to watch the Lady Rams take on their rivals from Lincoln High School.</p><p>However, the start of the game was put on hold when the game’s referee, Pete Campbell, decided to propose to his girlfriend and fellow referee, Mackenzie Hill.</p><p>Walking onto the court, Campbell engaged his now-fiancee in conversation, which was drowned out by the crowd’s cheers.
