Tom Hanks has signed on to star as Fred Rogers in a biopic about the beloved American children's television star.<br />TriStar Pictures has bought the rights to a film inspired by the real life of the creator of 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.'<br />Fred Rogers was a television icon to generations of American children.<br />'Mister Rogers Neighborhood was a popular educational children's TV series of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.<br />The film will be directed by 'Diary of a Teenage Girl's Marielle Heller. <br />
