Before Mark Salling committed suicide this week, he had previously attempted to take his own life in a shocking cry for help, a friend of the Glee actor revealed exclusively to RadarOnline.com.<br /><br />"I messaged him after he slit his wrists and I just asked if he was okay, and he directly said no. I was just like, well, how do I respond to that," the pal told Radar of the disturbing exchange last summer.<br /><br />"Do I think somebody should've stepped in and done something? I don't know," the friend told Radar. "He did open up to me. When he was acting depressed, I was thinking, sure everyone is depressed. I didn't take it seriously enough."<br /><br />LAPD received a missing person report on the Glee star. "That wasn't him...something was wrong.
