U.S. now has 40 import restrictions on Korean goods: KITA

The U.S. under President Trump is raising the pressure on Korea with more import restrictions.<br /> The Korea International Trade Association, or KITA, says that as of Monday the U.S. had 40 import restrictions affecting Korea.<br />Thirty of those were anti-dumping measures, eight were countervailing duties and two were safeguards.<br />Under President Obama two years ago, the U.S. had just 16 such measures, less than half as many.<br /> Korean steel and metal products are being affected the most by far, followed by electric products and electronics.<br />KITA says it expects still more protectionist moves out of Washington this year.<br />After the U.S., India had the second most import restrictions on Korean goods with 29,... followed by China and Turkey with 14 each. <br />
