<br /> <p>The Groenland Water Users Association began the release of up to 10 billion litres of water on February 6, in an effort to alleviate shortages in Cape Town.</p><p>The water was released from the Eikenhof Dam, on the Palmiet River in Grabouw.</p><p>Cape Town’s deputy mayor, Ian Neilson, said the previous day that “Day Zero,” when the supply is predicted to have to be turned off, had been pushed back to mid-May due to a decline in agricultural use.
