Russian and Syrian government forces launched a new series of airstrikes on Tuesday, …killing at least 47 civilians in a rebel-held suburb just outside of Damascus.<br /> This comes a day after airstrikes killed another 31 civilians in a nearby area,… and as the UN called for an immediate, month-long cease-fire to allow for aid deliveries.<br />Tuesday's death toll rose from an initial report of 16 to 47, and the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights warned it could climb further as bodies were still being pulled from the rubble.<br />It added that many of the 197 wounded were in critical condition. <br />
