HUALIEN, TAIWAN — A 6.4-magnitude earthquake off the eastern coast of Taiwan has left at least two people dead and more than 200 injured. <br /><br />The quake struck at 11:50 local time 18.3 km off the coast from Hualien, at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau. <br /><br />At least five buildings have collapsed, two bridges are closed and sections of two highways have been temporarily closed to traffic, the Taiwan News reported. <br /><br />Around 40,000 homes are without water. <br /><br />The basement and ground floor of the 10-story Marshal Hotel collapsed after the quake. One staff member was rescued, while two others are still trapped. <br /><br />Government agencies and the army have been called in for emergency rescues.
