A road cave-in left eight dead and three missing in Foshan city in southern China's Guangdong province on February 7.<br /><br />The cave-in, which took place at a subway construction site, is as large as two basketball courts, covering eight lanes in both directions. Sewer pipes and street lamps were swallowed up in the collapse.<br /><br />Nine people were rescued and hospitalised. The rescue operation is ongoing, and the case is under investigation.
