This is the heartbreaking moment a dog tried to "wake up" its friend which was lying dead in the road after it was hit by a car.<br /><br />The touching scene took place in Hubei province on February 12. <br /><br />The video shows a small black dog appearing to attempt to move its friend from the middle of the road.<br /><br />Later the dog paws in vain at the body of the dead companion.<br /><br />According to local media, the loyal dog stayed all night at the scene of the accident, long after the corpse had been removed.
