<p>A video of a nursing home’s send-off to a US Air Force veteran who died after a struggle with Alzheimer’s disease has gone viral after it was shared to Facebook on February 8.</p><p>In the clip, a US flag is shown draped over the body of Douglas Timmons as it’s led down the hallway of the Richard M Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina.</p><p>Timmons’ daughter, Laura Dorn, shared the clip to Facebook and wrote how even at 5am, “with the few people that were available….they still honored him on his way out.”</p><p>Speaking to local media, Russel Evatt,</a> the nursing home director, said they perform what the nursing home staff call the farewell ceremony, for every veteran who dies there.</p><p>Dorn’s clip had earned over 6.5 million views at the time of writing.
