Aid Convey Heads to Besieged Town in East Ghouta

<p>The Red Crescent and UNHCR in Syria said on February 14 that the first humanitarian convoy of the year had delivered supplies to the opposition-held town of al-Nashabiyah</a> in the besieged East Ghouta region of Damascus province.</p><p>The aid convoy was loaded with food, health and nutrition supplies destined for 1,440 families currently living in the town, according to the Syrian Red Crescent</a>. However, some 400,000 more people remain besieged in the wider East Ghouta region, struggling with lack of food and medical supplies.</p><p>East Ghouta has been heavily bombardment in recent days.
