<p>Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced via Twitter on Friday, February 16, that he was entering the race for Utah’s Senate seat.</p><p>Romney lost the 2012 presidential election to President Barack Obama. In a campaign video posted to Twitter, Romney hits out at “politicians in Washington,” highlighting the issues of debt and trade, and then, in what will be seen as a criticism of the Trump administration, says, “Utah welcomes legal immigrants from around the world, Washington sends immigrants a message of exclusion, and on Utah’s Capitol Hill, people treat one another with respect.”</p><p>Romney said he would “owe the Senate seat to no one but the people of Utah, no donor, no corporation, will own my campaign or bias my vote.” Credit: Mitt Romney via Storyful</p><br />
