Millions of Indians hope for a better future, with wellpaying<br />jobs and a decent standard of living. To meet their<br />aspirations, the country needs broad-based economic<br />growth and more effective public services—delivered<br />quickly. Technology can play an important role in raising<br />productivity, efficiency, and innovation. Ironically, India’s<br />prowess in information technology is a defining element<br />of its global brand, but so far, large parts of the country<br />remain untouched by its power.
