An Indian Railway official saved the life of a passenger, who was about to fall into the gap between the platform and the train, at Kalyan station in Mumbai on February 16. <br /><br />Shashikant Chavan, who works as a ticket checker, was chatting with a colleague on platform 5 when he saw a passenger, Sandeep Sonkar, trying to board a moving Pushpak Express.<br /><br />Unable to get a grip on the on the door, Sonkar lost his balance and was about to slip into the gap.<br /><br />Chavan rushed to grab Sonkar and managed to pulled him to safety. <br /><br />Senior Railway officials said Chavan would be rewarded for his bravery with a commendation certificate and cash award.<br /><br />A CCTV camera at the station captured the heart-stopping drama.
