Last year,... the average period of unemployment experienced by South Koreans in their 20s reached its longest on record: just over three months.<br /> According to Statistics Korea on Tuesday, last year's average was about three days longer than the previous year, the longest since tallies were first taken in 2000.<br />The period was especially long for those in their late 20s, reaching almost three-and-a-half months,... mostly for graduates fresh out of college.<br />Experts attribute the increasing period of unemployment to a divided structure in the job market between permanent and contract positions. <br />
