Indonesia’s Mount Sinabung volcano erupted yesterday (February 19) sending a huge ash column into the air and forcing residents and tourists to evacuate the area.<br /><br />The volcano, located on the Sumatra island, was dormant for four centuries before 2010 but has now experienced four seismic incidents in eight years.<br /><br />Thousands have been forced to evacuate the area around the mountain in the past few years, according to reports. <br /><br />Mount Sinabung is among more than 120 active volcanoes in Indonesia, which is located on the Pacific 'Ring of Fire', an area of intense seismic activity.
