Uber CEO Think Flying Taxis Will Debut in 5-10 Years The company's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi made the comments at a Tokyo investor forum Tuesday. UberAir would fly vehicles at low altitudes as part of a vertical take off and landing (VTOL) network of small, electric planes flying short distances. Mashable reports that the idea has been on the docket for the ride-hailing company since 2016. Uber has previously said that it would like to launch its first flying taxi service in Dallas, Dubai, and Los Angeles in 2020.
