Germany's main administrative court has ruled that cities in the country can ban some diesel cars in an effort to protect citizens from harmful emissions. <br /> The Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig said Tuesday that the heavily polluted cities of Stuttgart and Dusseldorf can gradually implement the ban on older diesel vehicles. <br />The move may trigger other cities and even some countries across Europe to take similar action as they struggle to meet EU air quality standards.<br />However, it's bitter news for German car giants Daimler, BMW, and especially Volkswagen, which has already seen a drop in their diesel vehicle sales amid the firm's emissions cheating scandal. <br />
