Amid fierce competition for the next generation of TV displays, Korean researchers have developed a way to convert videos to ultra high definition resolution using artificial intelligence.<br />Park Se-young has more. <br /> Last year, Korea became the first country in the world to offer terrestrial broadcasts in Ultra High Definition, or UHD.<br />However, the lack of infrastructure and the burden of heavy production costs have led to a content shortage.<br />This is why Korean researchers have developed a technology that uses artificial intelligence to upgrade high-definition content to ultra-high definition.<br /><br /> "Using deep learning technology, our system takes low-resolution videos and produces high quality videos."<br /><br /> The technology can convert HD clips to UHD resolution and repair blurry videos in real time.<br />The world's first case of AI-applied image processing can be used for UHD broadcasting content, 360-degree virtual reality content and content delivered through the internet.<br /> The technology is expected to serve as a future growth engine for Korea's display market.<br />Park Se-young, Arirang News. <br />
