A UN report is set to shed light on North Korea's deep ties to Egypt, where the regime's embassy is believed to be a clearinghouse for illicit arms sales.<br /> The report -- due to be released this month -- focuses on Egypt's role as the trans-shipment point for North Korean weapons throughout North Africa and the Middle east. <br />The New York Times reports that the UN has been looking into a North Korean freighter that was intercepted off the coast of Egypt in 2016 carrying some 30-thousand rocket-propelled grenades, estimated to worth some 26 million dollars. <br />UN and U.S. officials say Egypt has purchased North Korean weapons and allowed North Korean diplomats to use its Cairo Embassy as a base for military sales across the region,... in a clear violation of UN sanctions. <br />
