A section of Ward representatives from Miraa growing areas in Meru have condemned a move by their Kwale County counterparts to ban the herb.<br /><br />The Kwale County Assembly unanimously passed a motion banning the sale of miraa and muguka and directed the health department to come up with regulations on how the ban will be effected.<br /><br />Athiru Gaiti MCA Adamson Muriki termed the motion illegal as it contravenes national law that recognize miraa as a cash crop.
