According to local authorities, six to ten people have died after a pedestrian bridge collapsed outside a university in Florida.<br />The newly installed bridge spanned several lans of traffic adjacent to Florida International University.<br />Scheduled to open next year, the bridge was part of a campus extension project that would connect the city of Sweetwater to the FIU campus.<br />At least eight vehicles were crushed or pinned to the road by the collapsing bridge. <br />
