Spanish surfer Axi Muniain rode an enormous wave during a big swell off the coast of Nazare in Portugal.<br /><br />The footage shows Muniain taking on the towering roller and skirting along underneath it.<br /><br />The clip was filmed on January 18 but the footage has only now emerged online.<br /><br />Muniain, 35, is currently one of the top European riders. He has been chasing giant swells around the globe for more than 10 years and has built up a name for himself in Nazaré.<br /><br />Praia do Norte beach, near the fishing village of Nazaré, has become famous for huge waves since Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara set a then-record in 2011 for the largest wave ever surfed, when he rode a 78-foot wave.
