A gunman who has reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State shot at a police officer before taking hostages in a supermarket in the south of France.<br /><br />One person is believed to be dead, according to reports.<br /><br />The gunman reportedly opened fire at officers before barricading himself inside the Super U supermarket in Trèbes, near Carcassone. <br /><br />Video shows the situation as anti-terror GIGN police units arrive on the scene.
