Visibility in Thessaloniki on mainland Greece was reduced slightly as a major Saharan dust storm swept through the Mediterranean. <br /><br />Video shows a light haze over the coast in Greece's second city. <br /><br />But further south in Crete, the dust storm reportedly had a much wider impact. <br /><br />Visibility at Heraklion airport was reduced to just 600 metres as the storm arrived around 16:00 local time. <br /><br />On the western part of the island, the storm mixed with smoke from wildfires and exacerbated the problem.<br /><br />The storm is mostly dust and sand from North Africa that blows north into Greece and Turkey.
